Mirrhorn, designed for the Ducati Panigale motorbike draws inspiration from the elegant and dynamic form of deer antlers, merging functionality with artistic expression. Developed during the Design for Manufacturing class of the Master’s program in Design & Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, the project aims to enhance the iconic aesthetics of the Panigale while maintaining its high-performance standards.
The focus of the project was on designing molds for the efficient manufacturing of both plastic and metal components, ensuring precision, cost-effectiveness, and scalability. By leveraging advanced design tools and techniques, the team optimized the mirror’s geometry for moldability without compromising its structural integrity or aerodynamic performance. This multidisciplinary collaboration highlights the synergy between design innovation, engineering precision, and manufacturability, delivering a solution that aligns with Ducati’s legacy of quality and craftsmanship.
